Khovanschina es un hueso duro de roer para un teatro...pero aquí lo bordan, eh. Fabuloso. Casi me gusta más que el DVD de Viena con Abbado, Ghiaurov, Kotscherga, etc.
A mí también me parece una gran interpretación de conjunto,
de todos con Kent Nagano al frente, y ¡una escenografía gloriosa!
Lo de simultanear las acciones en diferentes escenarios e imaginar
'la vida' de los personajes mientras se derrolla la acción principal
me parece que es una ideal realmente brillante:

Recipient of Russia´s national theatre prize the Golden Mask (2002 and 2004) and the International Stanislavsky Prize.
Born in Moscow. Graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Art (GITIS) in 1993. Has staged numerous opera and drama productions for theatres in Moscow, St Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Vilnius, Kazan, Omsk and Samara. Among dramas he has designed are works by Wilde, Shaw, Maugham, Fougard and Dürrenmatt. Has designed the sets and costumes for almost all his own productions, as well as for productions by other stage directors: Der Fliegende Holländer (Perm Theatre of Opera and Ballet, 1993), Così fan tutte (Ludwigsburg Festival 1999) and Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Helikon Opera, Moscow).
Among his most recent works are West Side Story (Samara Drama, 2002), Double Inconstancy (Globus theatre, Novosibirsk), The Rake´s Progress (Bolshoi Theatre, 2003), Aida (Novosibirsk Opera, 2004) and Boris Godunov (The Berlin state opera Unter den Linden, 2005).
At the Mariinsky Theatre he has staged The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh (2001), A Life for the Tsar (2004) and Tristan und Isolde (2005).
