Por 50 puntos, rellenen los nombres de los tres protagonistas de este Fausto:

Haven't they got a French Marguerite (I know they have not) who sounds more at home in the music than _________? She does many ravishingly beautiful things but she sounds un-girlish to a degree and one simply cannot accept as ideal this kind of rather heavily spinto launching of the Jewel Song, especially as there is not by any means a compensatory strength in the testing reaches of the Church Scene and the final trio (where a truly graceful Marguerite is often over-parted). She is best in the ballad of the King of Thule and in the final address to the stars from her casement but she does not sound to me at all "like" Marguerite. Her French is better than XXXXXX but it does not sounds natural. Nor does Mr. _________'s, though this is a very great improvement on his performance of six years ago. The voice sounds firmer at crucial places, there is a better sense of style and more personality —he is to my ear quite an acceptable Faust though not at all the "great" class. Mr. _______ is admired by us all in some roles but his villainously bad French is a real handicap here. That has not improved at all. Mephisto needs to sound gleeful and wickedly coarse, it is true, but what we cannot envisage is a Devil who is not habile, who is in a word clumsy.

Mr. ___________, somewhat stocky of build and solid of countenance is not quite the investiture that Miss XXXX is. As Italian tenors go, however, he is a pillar of grace. Once in a while he forgot who he was singing to and addressed himself directly to the Family Circle, but that may be nervousness about the size of the Met. He can rest easy, because he came though loud and clear-and better yet-also soft and clear.

His voice is a splendid instrument and he has it under fine control. It whitens ever so slightly toward the top, but not enough to cause any alarm. What matters is that here, for the first time in a while, is a young Italian with a real feeling for a lyric line and a superior fund of good vocal manners. He sang Rudolfo's first-act aria in the original key of C, by the way, which is a rarity, and at the end he sang a lovely, open-throated pianissimo the likes of which one doesn't get very often on 39th Street or anywhere else.

As the Almavivas, _______ and ______ keep their full power in reserve, invariably shading their lines with the utmost sensitivity and intelligence. There´s no more elegant Count on disc than _______. (Listen to the extraordinary specificity he brings to the Act III aria, preceded by a model interpretation of the all-important recitative.) XXXX choice of ______ will astonish many listeners, although not those who know her Donna Anna, now available on CD (...) This Countess, who floats her voice with enviable ease, also faces the Count in Act II with considerable strenght and a persuasive sense of outraged femininity.
